Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mel Gray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bill Bilton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Gray!
Bilton has a takedown stuffed.
Gray throws a jab when Bilton was well out of range.
Bilton scores with a one two! Gray had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Gray lands a jab to Bilton's midsection.
Bilton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gray's waist but Gray gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bilton off to one side.
Gray misses with a series of wild punches.

Gray avoids the head kick by Bilton.
The fighters circling - Gray throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Mel Gray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bill Bilton.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gray swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Gray counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Gray misses with an uppercut.

Oooh a lovely combination from Gray sends Bilton down but not out. Gray dives into side control looking to finish.

Bilton is rocked!
Gray takes a little break here. Bilton wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Bilton is still in real trouble! Can Gray finish him?

Gray decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Bilton gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Gray.
Gray shoots in but no luck this time.
Bilton seems to have recovered his senses.
Bilton fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Bilton takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Gray throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gray throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Bilton counters with a head kick. That will keep Gray thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

and Bilton counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Gray is trying to break free.

Bilton keeps control of Gray as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Gray tries to pull guard but Bilton won't allow it.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Bilton is trying desperately to land a takedown but Gray is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Bilton.

Gray ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gray no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Gray is controlling Bilton's posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bilton is posturing up here but Gray has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Bilton tries to roll out but it's too tight and Bilton has to tap! Slick submission there by Gray!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mel Gray!
