Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Orlando Boom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason McGully (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Jason McGully enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Orlando Boom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason McGully!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGully will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
McGully just misses with a punch to the body.
Jason McGully seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McGully lands a nice shot that snaps Boom's head back.
Boom is on the wrong end of a nice combination from McGully.
McGully has a takedown stuffed.
Boom throws a hook but McGully avoids it easily.
McGully tries to clinch up but Boom circles away and keeps his distance.
McGully lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Boom circles away quickly and effectively.
Boom blocks the body kick.
McGully rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Boom moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
McGully dives in and grabs Boom's left leg, looking for a takedown. Boom pushes down on McGully's head and hops out.
Boom looks to throw the jab but McGully is out of range.

McGully lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Boom is on the wrong end of a nice combination from McGully.

McGully closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McGully lands in his opponent's guard.
Boom is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Boom might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Boom looking for a sweep. Not yet Boom, not yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McGully postures up in Boom's guard and throws a big left but Boom blocks it.
Boom tries to land a sweep but no joy.

McGully drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Boom dives on top into guard.
McGully has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Boom in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Boom got a little sloppy there for a moment and McGully has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Boom has managed to get both his arms back between McGully's legs - danger averted.
Boom has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Boom throws a strike but McGully rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
McGully is fighting to break Boom's control of his arms but Boom is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
McGully is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

McGully decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

McGully fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Orlando Boom has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason McGully.
McGully tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Boom paws at him with a jab and circles away.
McGully lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by McGully.
McGully shoots in but no luck this time.
McGully swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
McGully tries to bum rush Boom with a series of wild strikes but Boom uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Nice sprawl there from Boom as McGully shoots in.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Boom swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
McGully doesn't manage to clinch there - Boom circles away.
McGully misses with a jab, cross combination.
Boom throws a looping overhand right but McGully ducks down to avoid it.
Orlando Boom is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
McGully tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Boom paws at him with a jab and circles away.
McGully wants to clinch up but Boom keeps it at a distance.
Boom throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
McGully swinging wildly here.
Boom misses with a straight left.
McGully does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason McGully dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


McGully is looking to clinch.
McGully fails to land the takedown.
That kick from McGully tenderised Boom's leg. Boom is trying to keep his angry face on.
McGully scores with a three punch combo!

Boom gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows McGully to score an easy takedown into full guard.
McGully postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Boom wants to control the position but McGully says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Boom is looking to control McGully's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Boom avoid being mounted?

McGully takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
McGully trying to control the action but Boom is working from the bottom.

McGully is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Boom defends it well.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. McGully lands a nice short elbow.
McGully with the ground and pound but Boom uses the opportunity to regain guard.

McGully is looking to stand up but Boom isn't so interested in that idea.

Boom lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Boom trying to control the position from guard on top but McGully is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Boom is looking to work some ground and pound but McGully has wrist control.

McGully escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Boom gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
McGully throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

McGully kicks Boom off and gets to his feet.
McGully fails with an attempt to clinch.
Boom is really struggling to find his range with his punches. McGully's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
No luck with that takedown attempt from McGully.
McGully is breathing heavily.
McGully looks to land a combination but Boom avoids it well.
McGully looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Boom is fending him off so far but McGully persists. Nope, Boom circles away and we're back to standing.
Orlando Boom has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason McGully.
McGully steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Boom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason McGully showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!


McGully throws a right and a left that Boom avoids nicely.
McGully keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Boom.
McGully wants to clinch up but Boom keeps it at a distance.
McGully defending well as Boom loads up on a big left hand.
Boom loads up on a big right hand but McGully slips the punch.
Boom leaves McGully with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
McGully throws a series of punches but Boom moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McGully shoots in but Boom avoids the takedown attempt easily.
McGully takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
McGully shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Boom pinned against the cage. Boom gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Boom scores with a sloppy right hand. McGully should have avoided that one.
Sloppy strikes from McGully. Those never looked like landing.

Boom throws out a loose jab but McGully uses good head movement to avoid it.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from McGully.
McGully shoots for a double leg takedown but Boom sprawls well. He's pushed McGully's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

McGully bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Boom showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from McGully.

McGully throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
McGully tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
McGully changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Boom tries to avoid it but McGully manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Boom to the ground. Boom escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A nice combination there by McGully.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Boom gets cracked there but stands up to it.
A jab from McGully misses.
Boom misses with an uppercut.
McGully will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Boom swats away the attempt to clinch by McGully.
McGully moves away from the strike by Boom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Boom leaves McGully with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
McGully shoots in for a takedown but Boom shows good takedown defense.

And that's the end of the fight!
Orlando Boom showed his dominance in that final round.
I think McGully has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
