The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Retkovic tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but James swivels and escapes.
James lands with a good body shot.

James feints a jab promting Retkovic to slip. James then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Retkovic slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Retkovic shoots in looking for a takedown. James tries to sprawl out of it but Retkovic keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. James manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Lebron James seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Retkovic shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
James scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Retkovic doesn't seem bothered though.

James cracks Retkovic with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

James lands with a shot to the body.

James lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Retkovic backs up against the cage.
James is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

James leaves Retkovic with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Retkovic looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
