Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nate Kronic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Fontana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Fontana's choice of entrance music: Queensryche - Silent Lucidity. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nate Kronic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Fontana!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A bone on bone clash there as Fontana blocks the leg kick.
Kronic is looking to clinch.
Fontana tests Kronic's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Kronic throws a leg kick but Fontana checks it.
Fontana takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Kronic tries to land a front kick but Fontana steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Kronic defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Fontana.
Fontana pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Kronic tries for a takedown but Fontana circles away easily
and Fontana counters with a shoot takedown. Kronic fights it but they end up in guard.
Fontana trying to control the position from guard on top but Kronic is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Fontana has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kronic is proving hard to escape from.
Fontana postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Fontana passes into half guard.
Fontana decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Kronic fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Fontana checks it well.
Fontana shoots in for a takedown but Kronic shows good takedown defense.
Fontana darts in and clinches Kronic up against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fontana is trying to push Kronic away but Kronic has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Kronic trying to land knees to the body.
Fontana escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kronic shoots in looking for a takedown but Fontana manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kronic's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kronic loads up on a big right hand but Fontana slips the punch.
Fontana swings for the body but Kronic moves out of range.
Kronic throws a leg kick
and Fontana counters with a nice uppercut.
Kronic is looking to land body kicks.
Kronic misses with a combination
and Fontana counters with a nice body shot.
Kronic takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Kronic plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Kronic is breathing heavily.
Kronic shoots and misses
and Fontana counters with an inside leg kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nate Kronic. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kronic throws a lazy head kick
and Fontana counters with a stiff right hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fontana closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Fontana lands a left and a right that send Kronic crashing to the mat, dazed. Fontana thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Kronic is rocked!
It looks like Nate Kronic has been cut.
Kronic walks straight into a right hand from Fontana - that's dropped him! Fontana jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Kronic from any more punishment! Kronic complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Steve Fontana!
