PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Stien Riech (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Butch Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Riech's entrance music is Escape. A fine choice. Williams comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Sunshine of Your Love kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Williams closes the distance and pushes Riech back into the cage.
Williams is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Williams goes for a takedown in the clinch but Riech prevents it.

Stien Riech has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Butch Williams.

Williams ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Williams no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Williams is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Riech knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Williams on the ground.

Williams is pushing down on Riech's leg trying to pass to half guard. Riech is fighting to maintain full guard but Williams has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Williams stops Riech from getting back to his feet.
Williams looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Riech with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Williams is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Williams is trying to control the action in half guard but Riech is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Williams winds up and cracks Riech with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Williams is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Riech is not content to let Williams control the position.

Williams is trying to control. Riech wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Riech tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Williams manages to move to mount!
Williams misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Riech on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Riech tries to get out of the position.

Williams goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Riech is on top in guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Williams working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Riech turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Williams off and cradles Riech's limp body as Williams celebrates with his corner.
