The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Jones.
Jones tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Iopniu was well out of range. Poor timing from Jones.
Iopniu fails with a takedown attempt.
Jones throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jones misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Iopniu closes the distance and clinches up with Jones, looking for a takedown. Iopniu pushes Jones against the cage but Jones circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Jones shoots in and gets a takedown into Iopniu's guard.

Jones got a little sloppy there for a moment and Iopniu has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jones has managed to get both his arms back between Iopniu's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jones working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Iopniu is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Jones wants to stand but Iopniu has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Iopniu drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jones manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Iopniu has Jones in his guard.
