Alverez kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is ALL DAY. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alverez looks to land a right hand but Mahal moved out of range.
Mahal misses with a wild combination.

Alverez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mahal manages to avoid it.
Mahal lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Mahal closes the distance and clinches up with Alverez, looking for a takedown. Mahal pushes Alverez against the cage but Alverez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Alverez bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Mahal's head.
Alverez stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Mahal.

Mahal throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Mahal avoids a punch combination nicely.
Alverez is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mahal.

Mahal shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Alverez napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Mahal is trying to get an arm triangle but Alverez is defending well.

Alverez lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Mahal can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Alverez and Mahal drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Alverez.
