PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between pete jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cole Trickle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Trickle looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for jones !

jones has his foot on Trickle's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Trickle works his way back into a safe position though.

Trickle is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Trickle drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Trickle jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

jones is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Trickle defends well.

jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Trickle doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Trickle manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
jones manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's time! jones 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

jones throws a nice looking combination but Trickle bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

jones bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Trickle's guard.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Trickle cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

jones is in a horrible position here. Trickle smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Trickle postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. jones looks a forlorn figure.

Trickle is going oldschool here, as he tries to force jones to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so jones shrugs it off.

Trickle loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have jones scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Trickle land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Trickle stands and salutes the crowd.
