Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rip James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elmeri Hautamaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James comes to the cage accompanied by What's the difference. Hautamaki is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Nekromantix-Generation 666. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rip James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Elmeri Hautamaki!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Sosuke Kotani and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hautamaki doesn't manage to clinch there - James circles away.
Hautamaki tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but James swivels and escapes.
Hautamaki throws a series of punches but James moves out of range.
James circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hautamaki tries to score a power double leg takedown but James sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hautamaki somewhat.
Hautamaki tries to clinch there but James circles away.
Hautamaki throws out a loose jab but James uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hautamaki fails with a takedown attempt.
Rip James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Elmeri Hautamaki.
James uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Hautamaki is looking to clinch but James is avoiding it.

Hautamaki gets a takedown into half guard.

Hautamaki is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, James has managed to free his arm - good work.
James gets back to full guard.

Hautamaki is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and James defends well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
James sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hautamaki's guard.
James is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
James throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
James is trying to control. Hautamaki wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
James moves into full mount! Hautamaki won't be happy about that!
James lands a nice shot to the head.
Hautamaki tries to hold on but James postures up.
Hautamaki regains half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
James works his way into side control.
James creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rip James dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Hautamaki moves in looking to clinch but James pushes him off.

James steps into range and cracks Hautamaki with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Hautamaki flops backwards and James dives into his guard looking to finish!

James cracks Hautamaki with a solid left hand.
James works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Hautamaki manages to get to full guard.

James avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
James with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hautamaki manages to get to full guard.
Hautamaki is breathing heavily.
James stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hautamaki swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hautamaki has hold of James's hands but James slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

James passes to full mount!

James has control of Hautamaki's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hautamaki regains control of the situation pretty easily.
James scoring with strikes but Hautamaki is staying in there.
A big strike lands for James! That's really hurt Hautamaki and he's turned his back - James keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! James jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rip James!
