Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Seamus Byrne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renan Carvalho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carvalho has chosen many man as his entrance music. Renan Carvalho has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Seamus Byrne's chin.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Renan Carvalho!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Mauricio Rocha and Luis Engracia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carvalho is trying hard to land a takedown here. Byrne sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Carvalho closes this distance looking for a takedown but Byrne circles away.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Byrne, right into the meat.
Seamus Byrne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Byrne scores with a jab. Carvalho acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Horrible takedown by Carvalho or perhaps it was just good defense by Byrne which made him look bad.
Seamus Byrne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Renan Carvalho.

Byrne gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Byrne wants to sweep but no luck.
Carvalho stops Byrne from standing up.

Carvalho has gone for a leg lock! Byrne slips out almost immediately though and dives into Carvalho's guard.

Carvalho looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Byrne knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carvalho on the ground.

Byrne wanted to stand there but Carvalho had control of the position.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Carvalho holds on and takes a little breather.
Carvalho looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Carvalho looks gassed!
Byrne tries to stand but Carvalho is controlling from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Carvalho looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Byrne has picked Carvalho up and slammed him! Carvalho can't keep hold of the triangle and Byrne manages to pass to side control!
Byrne wants to stand but Carvalho has his arm trapped.
Carvalho tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Byrne wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Byrne stands up and beckons Carvalho to his feet.
Carvalho shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Byrne pinned against the cage. Byrne gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
An inside leg kick lands from Byrne.
Carvalho takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Byrne lands with a slapping head kick.

It looks like Renan Carvalho has been cut.

A jab from Byrne does it's job there.
Byrne scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Byrne cracks Carvalho with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Carvalho is still on wobbly legs! Can Byrne finish him?
This has been an exciting period of action!
Byrne walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Carvalho drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Byrne swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Carvalho's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
