The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson looks to score with a jab to the body but Cottom is just out of range.
Cottom moves away from the strike by Johnson.
Cottom darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Cottom gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Johnson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Cottom connects with a nice looking jab.

Cottom throws a hook but Johnson blocks it.

Johnson throws out a loose jab but Cottom uses good head movement to avoid it.

Johnson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Johnson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Cottom avoids a kick to the body.
Cottom uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Johnson.

Johnson blocks a jab.
Johnson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cottom's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Cottom duly obliges.
Johnson takes a jab right on the kisser.
Josh Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch but Cottom swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Johnson throws a big shot that misses.
Cottom keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Johnson.
Nice combo by Johnson! Oh, that's hurt him - Cottom falls to the canvas and Johnson follows him into side control.
Johnson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Johnson goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Cottom rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Johnson's guard! Nice work there by Cottom!
Johnson is looking for a triangle but Cottom pushes his legs off easily.
Johnson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Cottom!
