Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aaron Koscheck!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Quantumbami Zuzu!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zuzu throws a lazy right hand but Koscheck sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Zuzu misses with a series of wild punches.
A combination from Zuzu does no damage.
Koscheck shoots for a takedown but Zuzu saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A big right from Zuzu misses.
Koscheck ducks under a wild hook from Zuzu.
Zuzu is looking to clinch.
Zuzu will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Koscheck wants to clinch.
Zuzu throws an overhand right that lands on Koscheck's shoulder, as Koscheck tries to avoid the shot.
Koscheck on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Zuzu looks to land a right hand but Koscheck moved out of range.

Koscheck shoots in and bounces Zuzu off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Zuzu can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Koscheck controls the pace.

Koscheck has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Zuzu is looking to stand back up but Koscheck counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Zuzu.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Koscheck seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Zuzu for as long as he can get away with.

We're going to have a standup here because Aaron Koscheck wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Koscheck bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Koscheck closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Koscheck lands in his opponent's guard.

Koscheck wants to pass the guard but Zuzu is keeping the position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Zuzu can do anything to dispel that myth.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Zuzu would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Koscheck shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Koscheck was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Koscheck manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Zuzu manages to get himself to full guard.
Koscheck's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Aaron Koscheck just wasn't active enough.

Koscheck closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Zuzu quickly recovers to half guard.

Koscheck perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Aaron Koscheck overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Koscheck's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
