PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kekoa Aleki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hawaiian Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aleki comes to the cage accompanied by T.O.P. - Big Boy. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aleki tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Aleki shoots for a takedown but Hart saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Aleki shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hart defends it nicely.
Hart avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Oooooh!!! Hart has knocked Aleki down with a huge combo! Hart steps away and waves a wobbly Aleki back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Hart rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Aleki moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

No joy there for Hart, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Hart misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Aleki tries to close the distance and clinch but Hart swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Aleki looks to land a combination but Hart avoids it well.
Aleki misses with a body kick.
Hart is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Hart throws a nice looking combination but Aleki bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Aleki shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hart as he jumps to the side.

Aleki gets a takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Hart keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Aleki stops Hart from getting back to his feet.
Hart really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aleki. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Aleki is looking to take a break and control but Hart is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Aleki tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hart knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Aleki seems to be looking for submissions.
Hart is staying active underneath Aleki, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Hawaiian Hart dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Aleki throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hart's waist but Hart gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Aleki off to one side.

and Aleki counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Aleki is pushing down on Hart's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hart is fighting to maintain full guard but Aleki has managed to sneak the leg through.
Aleki wants to pass to mount but Hart is defending the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Aleki thows a huge punch but Hart dodges it nicely.
Hart is not content to let Aleki control the position.
Hart is breathing heavily.
Aleki moves into full mount! Hart won't be happy about that!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Aleki takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Aleki is in the full mount, landing strikes.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Poor strikes thrown by Aleki there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Kekoa Aleki dominated that second round.
That's time! Aleki's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Aleki shoots in looking for a takedown. Hart tries to sprawl out of it but Aleki keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hart manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hart leaves Aleki with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Aleki fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hart throws a right hand that Aleki ducks under and follows up with a left that Aleki also avoids with ease.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hart displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Aleki.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hart misses with a double jab
and Aleki counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Kekoa Aleki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Aleki shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hart as he avoids it easily.
Hart lands with a big left! Aleki is wobbled badly! Hart comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Aleki to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
