Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Coco Flamez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aldin Arifi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arifi has chosen Kraddy - Android as his entrance music. Aldin Arifi will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Coco Flamez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aldin Arifi!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Eddie Farnsworth and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arifi closes this distance looking for a takedown but Flamez circles away.

Arifi tries to sprawl but Flamez drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Flamez is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Arifi tries to kick Flamez off but Flamez keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Flamez is taking a breather. Arifi says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Flamez stops Arifi from getting back to his feet.
Flamez with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Coco Flamez wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

and Flamez counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Arifi's guard now.

Flamez is stalling in the full guard.
Arifi trying to keep a closed guard but Flamez is proving a slippery customer.
Flamez tries to free his leg and advance position but Arifi is retaining full guard.

Flamez looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Arifi doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Flamez counters with a takedown into side control.
Coco Flamez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aldin Arifi.
Flamez just content to control the position.
Arifi tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Flamez wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Coco Flamez dominated that round.
That's time! Flamez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Arifi tries a head kick but it misses.
Arifi fails with the takedown

and Flamez counters with a single leg into guard. Arifi didn't expect that.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Flamez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Arifi is keeping the position for now.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Arifi is on top in guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Flamez pulls Arifi in close to prevent any damage.
Arifi loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Arifi works over Flamez with some ground and pound from guard.
Arifi in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Flamez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Arifi is controlling him.
Arifi trying to control the position from guard on top but Flamez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Flamez is looking for a triangle but Arifi pushes his legs off easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Arifi wants to control from the top but Flamez keeps moving.
Flamez looking for a sweep. Not yet Flamez, not yet.
Arifi trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Arifi loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Arifi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Arifi wants to control from the top but Flamez keeps moving.

Flamez is trying to control the position but Arifi postures up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Arifi has his takedown stuffed

and Flamez counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Coco Flamez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Flamez blocks the strikes from Arifi.
Arifi trying to control here.

Flamez seems to be working for a kimura but Arifi defends the submission attempt.
Arifi is trying to stand.
Flamez trying to control the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Coco Flamez dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Arifi catches Flamez with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Aldin Arifi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Arifi scores with a kick to the body.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Arifi is looking to escape.
Flamez stalling.

Arifi is staying active underneath Flamez, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Arifi wants to get back to his feet.
Flamez takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Flamez perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

And that's the end of the fight!
Coco Flamez showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Flamez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
