The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
marmeto wants to clinch.
marmeto chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Steel can pounce on him.
marmeto tries to clinch but Steel moves out of range.

Steel gets a clinch.
Steel is trying to force a seperation but marmeto has the dominant position.
Steel is looking to break free of the clinch but marmeto has double underhooks.
marmeto misses with a punch on the inside.
Steel wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but marmeto has him pressed against the cage.
Steel blocking some punches.
marmeto throws a head punch that misses.
marmeto swings away with an uppercut that misses.
marmeto misses with a hook from the clinch.
marmeto doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
marmeto misses with a punch on the inside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

marmeto swings wildly with an uppercut but Steel uses good head movement to avoid it.
marmeto throws a punch but it's blocked by Steel.

marmeto lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Steel tries to break the clinch but marmeto is controlling the position.

A nice inside leg kick there by Steel. That's going to slow marmeto down.

and Steel counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

enabling Steel to counter with a crisp jab.
Steel throws a series of strikes that have marmeto backpedaling.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Steel clinches up with marmeto and pushes him back against the cage.

Steel breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A cross from Steel lands.
Steel goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Steel closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Steel manages to break the clinch.

Steel throws a quick inside leg kick.

marmeto misses with a short punch on the inside.

Steel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Steel fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt marmeto.

Steel pushes marmeto up against the cage in a clinch.

Steel breaks from the clinch.
A chopping leg kick lands by Steel.
Good shot there by Steel.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Steel, right into the meat.

Steel shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Steel chips away with some ground and pound.
Steel works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Steel scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Steel slips a nice elbow through marmeto's hands, connecting with marmeto's forehead.
Steel keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Steel tries to pass to full mount but marmeto defends it.
Steel winds up and cracks marmeto with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Steel looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Steel decides to stand and escape the position.
Steel lands a jab-cross combination.
Steel fails to land with a series of punches.
Steel throws a combination but it was largely blocked by marmeto.
Steel lands a jab.
Steel uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before marmeto has time to react.
Steel is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Steel darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Steel has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Steel has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can marmeto defend it? Steel steps over the head and cranks it - marmeto is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Steel!
