State has chosen Blaze Of Glory by Bon Jovi as his entrance music. Justin Case could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Gunner State's chin.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Justin Case!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gunner State!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, John Roberts and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Case throws a low kick but it's checked well by State.
State keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
The fight stays on the outside here - State looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Nice takedown defense from Case. No joy for State on that attempt.
Case throws a lazy right hand but State sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Case darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
State gets back to full guard.
State wants to improve his position but instead Case has moved into half guard.

Case wants to control but State is keeping him busy.
Case misses with a head shot. State uses the momentum to regain guard.
State preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Case postures up.
Case trying to control the position from guard on top but State is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Case throws a strike but State rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
State wants to control from the top but Case keeps moving.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Case has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but State can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A telegraphed right hand from Case misses the target.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Case lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and State has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from State and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
State leaves Case with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Case tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Case gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and State counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

and State counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Case!
Case is bucking up trying to escape but State cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

State postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Case looks a forlorn figure.

State looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

State prevents Case from getting the reversal.
Case tries to hold on but State postures up.

Case has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
State trying to control the action but Case is working from the bottom.
State creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Case sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Gunner State showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Case feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to State's calf.
Case connects with a solid leg kick.
Case looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
State throws a hook but Case avoids it easily.
Case throws a nice inside leg kick.

Case throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. State was covering up waiting for the punch and Case finishes the takedown easily into guard.
State wants to sweep but no luck.

Case scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Case wants to pass the guard but State is keeping the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
State blocking the ground and pound attempt from Case.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Case in particular looking to stall.

It looks like Gunner State has been cut.
Case throws out a leg kick but State moves out of range and Case only half commits.

Case throws a low kick but State avoids it.
State checks a leg kick nicely.
State ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Case moves away.
Case misses with a series of wild punches.
Case throws a hook but State avoids it easily.

Case shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts State as he jumps to the side.
State slips under a jab.
Case misses with a double jab
and State counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
State moves in looking to clinch but Case pushes him off.

State avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
State in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Case wants to sweep but no luck.
Case is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst State is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.
State wants to pass the guard but Case is keeping the position.
Case utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
State wants to control from the top but Case keeps moving.

That was a close fourth round but I would say that Justin Case will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Gunner State's cut.
That's time! Case's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


State tries to clinch but Case is having none of it.
Case lands a jab to the head.
State fails with an attempt to clinch.
State stuffs the takedown attempt from Case. Case gets slowly back to his feet.
State swings for the body but Case moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Case feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Case throws and elbow that misses. State uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Case's guard. Nice move by State!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Case is refusing to be controlled, as State sits in half guard.

Case avoiding damage under a succession of punches from State.

State seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Case does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Case wants to hit a switch here but State passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Case there!

State is landing with some decent strikes but Case is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Gunner State has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Case is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
State cracks Case with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Case is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Justin Case is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

State lands a nice shot to the head.
Case is trying desperately to improve position.
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
Case wants to control but State is having none of it.
Case bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Gunner State.
I think Case has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
