The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reich throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Reich throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Smith sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Reich misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Smith.
Smith goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Reich takes a swing at Smith's ribcage but misses.
Smith moves out of range of the strikes.
Smith tries to land a front kick but Reich steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Reich swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gustav Reich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Reich closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Reich tries to pass the half guard into mount. Smith knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Reich is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Smith has managed to free his arm - good work.
Reich passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Smith!

Smith is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Reich has taken his back.

Reich working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Smith is doing well to defend. Reich seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Smith is forced to tap and this one is over!
