Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Angel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Giant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Michael Angel looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Angel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Andrew Giant!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Giant feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Giant stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Angel swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Angel tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Angel keeping moving, preventing Giant from controlling successfully.
Giant is looking to work some ground and pound but Angel has wrist control.
Giant passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Angel is not content to let Giant control the position.
Giant throws an elbow but Angel slips to the side and avoids it well.
Angel parries the strikes from Giant easily there. Giant is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Angel to escape.
Giant scoring with punches and elbows.
Angel stops Giant from passing to mount.
Giant wants to control but Angel is keeping him busy.

Giant working away.
Angel tries to bench press Giant off him but Giant keeps the position.
Giant trying to control the position but Angel is working away.
Angel is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Giant off and has taken his back!
Giant trying to get back to his feet but Angel is in full control for now.
Giant is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Angel patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Angel looking to break Giant's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Giant remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Angel will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Angel wants to control but Giant is keeping busy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Giant holding both Angel 's hands and preventing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andrew Giant dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Nice takedown defense from Angel. No joy for Giant on that attempt.
Michael Angel is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Giant shoots in and bounces Angel off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Giant stands up over Angel, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Giant postures up in Angel's guard and throws a big left but Angel blocks it.
Giant wants to pass the guard but Angel is keeping the position.

Giant is breathing heavily.
Angel tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Andrew Giant was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Angel tries for a takedown but Giant circles away easily

and Giant counters with a single leg into guard. Angel didn't expect that.

Giant got a little sloppy there for a moment and Angel has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Giant has managed to get both his arms back between Angel's legs - danger averted.

Angel is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Giant is pushing down on Angel's leg trying to pass to half guard. Angel is fighting to maintain full guard but Giant has managed to sneak the leg through.

Giant is taking a breather. Angel says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Giant looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Angel is not content to let Giant control the position.
Giant is just content to waste time from the top position. Angel takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Angel working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Giant.
Giant loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Angel is trying to keep Giant in close.
Giant trying to control but Angel is working from the bottom.
Giant must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Giant showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Giant landing some decent shots from guard.
Angel manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Poor strikes thrown by Angel there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Angel jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Giant is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Giant and Angel has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andrew Giant showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Giant looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Angel!
BOOM! Giant connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Giant looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Giant tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Giant has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Angel's face.
Giant is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Giant lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Giant lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Giant trying to control but Angel is having none of it.
Giant content just to control the position here.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Giant lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Angel hang on?

Giant looking to control but Angel is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Angel bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Giant pushes Angel off and scrambles back to his feet.

Giant is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Angel's half guard.

Angel is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Giant scoring with punches to the head and body.
Giant wants to control from the top but Angel keeps moving.
Angel wants to sweep here but Giant controlling him for the moment.
Giant is working Angel over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Giant tries to free his leg and advance position but Angel is retaining full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Giant is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Angel is on top in guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Andrew Giant comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Giant winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
