Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Damien Maya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiroko Matsumato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maya comes to the cage accompanied by The Omen. Matsumato has chosen My Pre Fight Warmup as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Damien Maya!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hiroko Matsumato!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Nard Betker and Daniel Blasius.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Matsumato drives through with a takedown into guard.
Maya wants to sweep but no luck.
Matsumato throwing strikes but missing.
Matsumato trying to control but Maya is working from the bottom.
Matsumato trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Maya is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Matsumato trying to control the position from guard on top but Maya is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Matsumato stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maya swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Maya looking for a sweep. Not yet Maya, not yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Matsumato stands and throws Maya's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Maya stuck in half guard on the bottom here.
Maya tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Matsumato wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Matsumato wants to lay and pray for a moment but Maya keeps working.
Maya tries to bench press Matsumato off him but Matsumato keeps the position.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Maya parries the strikes from Matsumato easily there. Matsumato is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Maya to escape.
Matsumato wants to take a breather but Maya manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Matsumato.
Matsumato wants to control from the top but Maya keeps moving.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Hiroko Matsumato hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Maya ducks under a wild hook from Matsumato.
Matsumato will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Matsumato swings widly with a right hand
enabling Maya to counter with a crisp jab.
Matsumato rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Matsumato takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Matsumato throws an overhand right that lands on Maya's shoulder, as Maya tries to avoid the shot.
Matsumato lands a head shot.

Maya drops Matsumato with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Matsumato looks back up at him and smiles so Maya waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Matsumato is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Maya throws a quick head kick that knocks Matsumato silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! Maya is up on the cage, taking in the applause from the crowd.
