Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Blaise Lamont (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Knighton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Knighton has chosen Move by Thousand Foot Krutch as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knighton walks into a stiff left hand from Lamont.

Lamont looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Knighton!

Lamont is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Knighton has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Lamont trying to control but Knighton is having none of it.
Knighton is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Lamont takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Knighton is wriggling around trying to escape.

Lamont jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Knighton manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Lamont grinds an elbow into Knighton's temple.
Knighton tries to improve position but can't.
A lull in the action here as Lamont stalls from top position.

The strikes coming from Lamont are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lamont lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Knighton down.
Lamont advances nicely into full mount.
Lamont prevents Knighton from getting the reversal.

Lamont is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Knighton can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lamont is working for a guillotine from mount but Knighton frees his head quite easily.
Lamont has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Knighton has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Lamont working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Knighton is doing well to defend. Lamont seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Knighton is forced to tap and this one is over!
