Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Zangief (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Killer Kill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Zangief!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Killer Kill!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Sergei Dronov and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zangief drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Zangief landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Kill is looking for a sweep.
Zangief slows the pace down.
Kill tries to get back to half guard but can't.
A lull in the action here as Zangief stalls from top position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Kill is looking for a sweep.
Kill is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Zangief grinds an elbow into Kill's temple.
Kill seems a little lost for a moment, as Zangief dominates the positioning.
Zangief knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kill on the ground.
Zangief cracks Kill with a big right hand but Kill just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kill seems a little lost for a moment, as Zangief dominates the positioning.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zangief throws an elbow but Kill slips to the side and avoids it well.
Kill is trying to escape the position but Zangief is controlling the position.

Zangief connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Kill some visible discomfort.

The referee asks Zangief politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Zangief prefers to stall for the moment though.
Kill tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Zangief wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kill tries a head kick but it misses.

Zangief closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Zangief is staying tight to Kill's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Kill is looking to reverse the position.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ivan Zangief just wasn't active enough.

Zangief is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kill's half guard.

Zangief slips a nice elbow through Kill's hands, connecting with Kill's forehead.

Kill wants to control but Zangief is keeping busy.
Zangief drops an elbow to the side of Kill's head.
Zangief takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Zangief's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Ivan Zangief dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Zangief shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kill manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Kill wants to get back to his feet but Zangief is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Zangief postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Zangief seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Kill wants to improve his position but instead Zangief has moved into half guard.
Kill takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ivan Zangief just wasn't active enough.
Zangief shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kill sprawls well. Kill wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Zangief gets slowly back to his feet.
Crunch! Kill slams his shin into Zangief's torso.
Ivan Zangief is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Kill lands a nice looking kick to the body. Zangief takes a step back to recover.

Kill throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Zangief stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Kill follows into mount!


Zangief is rocked!


It looks like Ivan Zangief has been cut.
Zangief might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kill throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Kill misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Kill thowing shots but they're missing.
Ivan Zangief overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Zangief is wriggling around trying to escape.

Kill wants to control the pace but Zangief is squirming around nicely.
Kill might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Zangief kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

And that's the end of the fight!
Killer Kill comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Zangief has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
