The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Valeri Chadov and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gooderich gets a clinch.
Gooderich breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gooderich closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Melikhov quickly recovers to half guard.
Gooderich scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Gooderich has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Gooderich punishing his opponent with strikes.
Melikhov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gooderich. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gooderich will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee warns Melikhov that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Gooderich lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Melikhov takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Gooderich's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
