The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trafford is trying hard to land a takedown here. Texeira sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Texeira sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Texeira tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Trafford moves into range and clinches up with Texeira.
Texeira keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Trafford's efforts to push away.
Texeira tries for a takedown but Trafford manages to get underhooks.
Trafford is trying to drag Texeira to the mat but Texeira just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Texeira has hold of one of Trafford's legs. Trafford is fighting the takedown attempt but Texeira gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Texeira working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Texeira content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

It looks like Rob Trafford has been cut.
Texeira keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Trafford's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Texeira is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
