Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Konji Yamaski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takumi Nishijo!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Shimada and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamaski shoots for a double leg takedown but Nishijo sprawls well. He's pushed Yamaski's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Yamaski throws a big shot that misses.
Yamaski ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nishijo moves away.
Yamaski closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nishijo circles away.

Nishijo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Nishijo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Yamaski defends it well.

Nishijo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Yamaski is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Nishijo pulls his head out easily.

Nishijo is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Yamaski has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Nishijo swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Yamaski is now in Nishijo's guard. A big mistake from Nishijo there, giving up the dominant position!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nishijo can do anything to dispel that myth.

Nishijo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yamaski doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Yamaski manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Yamaski prevents Nishijo from improving his position.

Nishijo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Nishijo is looking to sinch up a triangle. Yamaski throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Nishijo's body to avoid the submission. Nishijo has instead reached around Yamaski's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Nishijo arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
