Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zachary Krantz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Pegg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simon Pegg has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Zachary Krantz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Simon Pegg!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Pegg enables Krantz to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Pegg manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Krantz prevents Pegg from getting back to his feet.
Pegg really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Krantz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Krantz trying to control the position from guard on top but Pegg is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Pegg looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Krantz puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Pegg is trying to get back to full guard.

Krantz wants to work for an arm triangle but Pegg is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Pegg looks like he's trying to stand up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Krantz in particular looking to stall.
Pegg is looking to escape.
Krantz tries to pass to full mount but Pegg defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pegg gets back to full guard.
Krantz slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Krantz is pushing down on Pegg's leg trying to pass to half guard. Pegg is fighting to maintain full guard but Krantz has managed to sneak the leg through.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pegg moves into full guard.
Krantz won't allow Pegg to get back to his feet.
Pegg looks gassed!
Krantz controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pegg can't keep his opponent in guard - Krantz advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Krantz performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Krantz is trying to work for a kimura but Pegg is defending well.

Krantz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Krantz moves into full mount! Pegg won't be happy about that!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Krantz tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Pegg is trying desperately to improve position.

Krantz wants to finish this one by submission but Pegg is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Krantz.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Krantz sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Krantz moves to take his opponent's back.
Pegg is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Krantz off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
I would not like to be Pegg right now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zachary Krantz dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Krantz shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Pegg is staying active underneath Krantz, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Krantz passes the guard and advances to mount!
Krantz content just to control the position here.
Krantz seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pegg for as long as he can get away with.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Krantz has hold of Pegg's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Pegg manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Pegg tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Krantz jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Pegg is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Pegg and Krantz has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Pegg is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Krantz asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Krantz controls the position.

Krantz tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Krantz has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Krantz tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Krantz advances to full mount.
Krantz in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Pegg is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Krantz takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Krantz lands with some strikes.

Krantz looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Krantz with a couple of short strikes.
Krantz landing strikes from the mount.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Krantz working for a guillotine from mount but Pegg is in no mood to give up.

Krantz lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Pegg hang on?

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Krantz is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Krantz extends the arm and Pegg is forced to tap!
