The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Emelianenko closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Paskaks quickly recovers to half guard.
Emelianenko is looking to take a break and control but Paskaks is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Paskaks holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Emelianenko works his way into full mount!
Paskaks tries to hold on but Emelianenko pushes him away.
Paskaks regains half guard.
Emelianenko wants to lay and pray for a moment but Paskaks keeps working.

Emelianenko is controlling the pace.
Emelianenko frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Paskaks tries to lock up and control but Emelianenko gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Emelianenko wants to take his opponent's back but Paskaks doesn't allow it.

Emelianenko takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Paskaks tries to lock up and control but Emelianenko gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Emelianenko is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Paskaks can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
