The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li ducks under a wild hook from Soendergaard.
Horrible takedown by Li or perhaps it was just good defense by Soendergaard which made him look bad.
Soendergaard shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Li counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Li seems to be looking for submissions.
Soendergaard is defending against the submission attempts here by Li.
Soendergaard is looking for a sweep. Li is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Soendergaard is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Li is trying to control the action in half guard but Soendergaard is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Li is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Soendergaard is just riding it out for now. Li eventually gives up the hold.

Li is working for a guillotine from mount but Soendergaard frees his head quite easily.
Li goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Soendergaard turns into him and now he's in Li's guard.
Soendergaard is looking to work some ground and pound but Li has wrist control.
Soendergaard wants to control from the top but Li keeps moving.
Soendergaard slips nicely into half guard.
Soendergaard is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Li defends it well.
