The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Santos is defended easily by Silva.
Santos shoots for a takedown but Silva saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nice takedown defense from Silva. No joy for Santos on that attempt.

Silva misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Silva shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Santos eats them both and turns towards Silva to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Santos has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Silva finds it's way round the side to connect with Santos's head.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Santos throws a low kick but Silva avoids it.

Santos takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Santos shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Silva paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silva cracks Santos with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Santos takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Silva thuds his right hand into Santos's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Danilo Santos has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Silva, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
