PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pedrinho Matador (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Murilo Ruas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Murilo Ruas was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pedrinho Matador!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Murilo Ruas!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruas avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Ruas feints and as Matador raises his hands in defense, Ruas changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Ruas drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ruas jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Ruas drops back looking for a leg! Matador is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Matador manages to kick Ruas off! Ruas jumps back into Matador's guard.

Ruas thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Ruas has hold of Matador's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Matador tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Ruas cranks the arm and Matador screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Matador, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Murilo Ruas!
