Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bunson Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Chico (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bunson Turner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Chico!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Russell Pearce and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turner bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Chico's head backwards.
Nice sprawl there from Turner as Chico shoots in.
Turner throws a looping overhand right but Chico ducks down to avoid it.

Turner closes the distance and clinches.

Turner pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Chico shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Turner as he jumps to the side.
Turner walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Turner gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Turner lands a takedown into guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Turner's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Turner postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Turner cracks Chico with a solid left hand.
Turner content to stall in guard here.
Turner has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Turner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chico swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Chico throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Turner slips nicely into half guard.
Turner thows a huge punch but Chico dodges it nicely.
Turner seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Chico is looking for a sweep. Turner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Turner looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Chico with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chico is trying to get back to full guard.
Chico looks gassed!

Turner is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Turner's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Turner lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Turner is taking a breather. Chico says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Turner looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Turner has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Chico has hold of Turner's hands but Turner slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Turner is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Turner frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Turner breaks from Chico's wrist control and lands an elbow.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Turner clinches.

Turner tightens his grip and picks Chico up, before dumping him to the ground. Chico manages to land in guard.

Chico looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Turner passes into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Turner happy to just control the position for now.
Chico is breathing heavily.

Turner lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Turner stands up and beckons Chico to his feet.
Turner misses with a few strikes there.

Turner closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Chico takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Turner decides to stand back up. Turner steps back and let's Chico get back to his feet.
Chico walks into a stiff left hand from Turner.
Chico ducks right into an uppercut from Turner.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Turner scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Turner closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Chico quickly recovers to half guard.
Turner is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Chico wants to control but Turner is keeping busy.
Chico on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Turner connects with a nice short shot to Chico's temple.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Turner lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Chico takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Turner is landing with some decent strikes but Chico is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Turner tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Turner cracks Chico with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Turner is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Chico can do to turn this around?
