PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jean Luc Picard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dinsdale Pirhana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Picard kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Picard Song. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Picard takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Picard ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Picard will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Pirhana lands with a shot to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pirhana keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Picard looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Pirhana throws a lazy right hand but Picard sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Picard dives in and grabs Pirhana's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pirhana pushes down on Picard's head and hops out.

Picard shoots in for a takedown but Pirhana shows good takedown defense.

Picard shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pirhana pinned against the cage. Pirhana gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Picard throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pirhana's waist but Pirhana gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Picard off to one side.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Dinsdale Pirhana showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Picard jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pirhana walks away with a smile on his face. Picard gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Well Pirhana has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
