Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Finch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Slapper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slapper has chosen beep beep i'm a jeep as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Ryan Finch has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryan Finch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Billy Slapper!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Emerson Jorge and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Slapper.
Finch tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Slapper controls the position.
I looks like Slapper might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Slapper wants to control but Finch is keeping him busy.
Slapper controls the position from side control.
Finch is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Slapper is looking to take a break and control but Finch is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Slapper is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Finch will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Finch wants to control from the top but Slapper keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Slapper moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Slapper trying to keep a closed guard but Finch is proving a slippery customer.
Finch wants to control from the top but Slapper keeps moving.

Slapper is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Finch is aware though and is defending well.

Finch has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Finch throws a strike but Slapper rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Slapper stays in close to Finch's body and controls the position.
Finch utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Slapper slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Finch gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Finch is refusing to be controlled, as Slapper sits in half guard.
Slapper looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Billy Slapper was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Slapper tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Finch swivels and escapes.
Finch ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Slapper moves away.

Slapper lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Finch circles away quickly and effectively.
Finch slips a straight right by Slapper.
Finch misses with an uppercut. Slapper saw that one coming.
Slapper steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Finch.
Finch works the jab nicely.
Slapper throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Slapper lunges at Finch with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Finch's hand.
Finch fails to land with a series of punches.
Slapper uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Finch.

Slapper misses with a wild combination.
Ryan Finch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Finch throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Slapper.

and Slapper counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Finch has his feet on Slapper's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Finch rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Slapper moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Finch uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Slapper.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Slapper takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Billy Slapper showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Finch's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Slapper lands with an uppercut that bounces Finch off the cage and back into rage.

Slapper bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Finch's guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Finch manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Slapper is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Finch's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Finch's back!
Finch is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Slapper.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Slapper's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Finch looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Slapper's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Billy Slapper comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Slapper has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
