The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Davis.
Erickson is trying to control Davis's posture but Davis avoids it.
Erickson is looking to reverse the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Erickson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Davis looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Nice takedown defense from Davis. No joy for Erickson on that attempt.

and Erickson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Davis not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Davis seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Erickson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Davis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Erickson on the ground.

Erickson is working for a kimura but Davis is defending it quite comfortably.

Erickson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
