Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Philippo da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Ovrut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). da Silva has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ovrut misses with a straight left.
A slow jab from Ovrut misses its intended target.
da Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ovrut pinned against the cage. Ovrut gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
da Silva slips under a jab.
da Silva blocks a jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
da Silva avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
da Silva ducks under a wild hook from Ovrut.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for da Silva. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Ovrut looks to land a left hand but da Silva moved out of range nicely.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
da Silva gets cracked there but stands up to it.
da Silva takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

da Silva uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ovrut.

Ovrut drops da Silva with a straight right hand, right on the button! Ovrut follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
