Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Denton Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marvin Mantis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jackson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to wolf pack. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marvin Mantis!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Bruno Lombardi and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mantis is looking to score with low kicks.
Jackson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A head kick from Mantis lands but Jackson takes it in his stride.
Jackson loads up on a big right hand but Mantis slips the punch.
A jab from Jackson misses.
Mantis lands a leg kick that knocks Jackson off balance momentarily.
Mantis throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Jackson's head.
Mantis ducks under a wild hook from Jackson.
Nice jab there from Mantis.

and Mantis counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Jackson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mantis.
Mantis turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Jackson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Jackson is looking to work some ground and pound but Mantis has wrist control.
Mantis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jackson is controlling him.

Jackson with a flurry of punches that miss.
Jackson is pushing down on Mantis's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mantis is fighting to maintain full guard but Jackson has managed to sneak the leg through.
Jackson wants to free his trapped foot but Mantis is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Mantis tries to reverse the position but Jackson maintains control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackson connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Mantis is looking to get to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mantis is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Jackson sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Jackson lands a nice shot to the head.
BOOM! Jackson connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Jackson tries to control but Mantis wriggling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jackson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mantis circles away quickly and effectively.
Mantis uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jackson.
Mantis misses with a telegraphed body shot
letting Jackson counter with a right hand.
Mantis missing with a left hand there. Jackson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Nice uppercut there from Mantis.
Mantis throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jackson. Mantis does a little dance to reset his feet.
Jackson slips a straight right by Mantis.
Mantis looks to land a left hand but Jackson moved out of range nicely.
Some bone on bone action there as Jackson checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Jackson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Marvin Mantis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A swing and a miss from Jackson.
Mantis slips a straight right by Jackson.
Sloppy strikes from Jackson. Those never looked like landing.

Jackson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Jackson moves out of range of the leg kick from Mantis.
Mantis wants to slow Jackson down by chopping away at his legs.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jackson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jackson is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Mantis's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Jackson shoots in and bounces Mantis off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Jackson has gone for a leg lock! Mantis slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jackson's guard.

Mantis is looking to stand up but Jackson won't let him.

Jackson wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Mantis is now in half guard.

Marvin Mantis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Jackson's corner calls for a 1-2. Jackson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
The fighters circling - Jackson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Mantis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Mantis counters with a big head kick but Jackson shrugs it off.

The crowd cheers as Mantis lands an impressive looking overhand right. Jackson doesn't seem phased though.
Mantis loads up on a big right hand but Jackson slips the punch.

Nice takedown defense from Mantis. No joy for Jackson on that attempt.
Jackson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jackson throws a jab when Mantis was well out of range.
Jackson moves away from the strike by Mantis.
Mantis goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Mantis throws a chopping leg kick but Jackson manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Jackson needs to keep his hands up - Mantis had a free shot at his head there.
Mantis gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Jackson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Mantis fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Jackson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

and Mantis counters with a good low kick that Jackson was not able to check.

and Jackson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

A jab from Mantis finds it's way through Jackson's defenses.

Jackson tries for a takedown but Mantis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Jackson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mantis throws a lazy right hand but Jackson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Mantis lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Jackson at a distance.
Mantis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Marvin Mantis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Mantis has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
