The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morris fails to land with a series of punches.
Lawson avoids the body shot from Morris.
Akira Morris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lawson dodges the punch combination from Morris.
Morris throws a lazy right hand but Lawson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Lawson shoots for a double leg takedown but Morris sprawls well. He's pushed Lawson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Lawson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Lawson shoots in and drives through. Morris sprawls well.
Akira Morris has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kye Lawson.
Morris scores with a sloppy right hand. Lawson should have avoided that one.
Lawson shoots in for a takedown but Morris shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Morris connects with a right hand. Lawson shakes it off.
Morris moves out of range as Lawson throws a body kick.

Morris lands a left and a right that send Lawson crashing to the mat, dazed. Morris thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Morris tries to bum rush Lawson with a series of wild strikes but Lawson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Lawson is still on wobbly legs! Can Morris finish him?
Sloppy strikes from Morris. Those never looked like landing.
Morris lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lawson circles away quickly and effectively.
Lawson walks straight into a right hand from Morris - that's dropped him! Morris jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Lawson from any more punishment! Lawson complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
