The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McFly fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Van Der Hoef manages to avoid it.
Van Der Hoef is looking to clinch.

McFly throws a lazy right hand but Van Der Hoef sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

McFly is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Van Der Hoef is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Van Der Hoef parries the strikes from McFly easily there. McFly is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Van Der Hoef to escape.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

McFly doesn't manage to clinch there - Van Der Hoef circles away.

Van Der Hoef fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt McFly.
McFly is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Van Der Hoef.
McFly throws a right hand that Van Der Hoef ducks under and follows up with a left that Van Der Hoef also avoids with ease.
McFly cracks Van Der Hoef with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Van Der Hoef tries to clinch up but McFly circles away and keeps his distance.

Van Der Hoef closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. McFly quickly recovers to half guard.
McFly tries to get to full guard but Van Der Hoef has control of the leg.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now McFly is on top in guard.

Van Der Hoef is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and McFly defends it well.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Van Der Hoef not landing any meaningful shots this time.
It looks like Van Der Hoef is going to stand back up.
Van Der Hoef seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McFly does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
