Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Lara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lara comes to the cage accompanied by 'I Stand Alone' by Godsmack. Alexander Lara has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Lara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brock Smith!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lara swivels and escapes.
Lara dodges the punch combination from Smith.
Lara tries to clinch there but Smith circles away.
Smith shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Lara swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lara throws a combination that misses
and Smith counters with a left to the body.
Smith throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lara's waist but Lara gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Smith off to one side.
Alexander Lara has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brock Smith.
Lara shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Smith counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Lara works the jab nicely.
Smith misses with a body shot.
Lara misses with a double jab.
Lara darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Lara is looking to advance position but Smith won't allow it.

Smith looks like he's trying to stand up.
Lara has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lara decides to stand and escape the position.

Smith keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Smith ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lara moves away.
Smith shoots in for a takedown but Lara shows good takedown defense.

and Lara counters with a shoot takedown. Smith fights it but they end up in guard.
Lara is breathing heavily.
Lara is working Smith over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Smith wants to stand and escape but Lara is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lara won't allow Smith to sweep him here.
Smith wants to stand but Lara is controlling the position.
Lara lands a couple of digs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Smith lands an upkick as Lara stands over him.
Smith is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Smith is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lara is controlling him.
Smith has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lara can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Smith working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Lara has passed into half guard!
Smith wants to get back to his feet.
Smith works his way to full guard. Good work.
Smith throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Lara works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Lara takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Smith is trying to stand back up but Lara is controlling him

Smith wants to get back to full guard.

Lara gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Smith looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
It looks like Brock Smith has been cut.
Lara lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Smith falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!
