And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Landon Kaplan!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Viktor Lagutenko and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kucenko fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kaplan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Kaplan is trying to escape the mount.
Kucenko will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kucenko darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Kaplan closes the distance and pushes Kucenko back into the cage.

Kucenko shoots for a double leg takedown but Kaplan sprawls well. He's pushed Kucenko's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kaplan can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Gosha Kucenko.

Kaplan fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kucenko looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Landon Kaplan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Kucenko misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kucenko is looking to break free of the clinch but Kaplan has double underhooks.
Kaplan can't find room to land a body shot as Kucenko controls the action.

Come on Kaplan - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kaplan's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kaplan won't allow Kucenko to sweep him here.

Landon Kaplan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kaplan has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
