Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hanz Austerlich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eirik Teigen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hanz Austerlich has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Austerlich.
Teigen takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Teigen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Austerlich swivels and escapes.
Teigen throws a series of punches but Austerlich avoids them all with ease.

Teigen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Austerlich has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Teigen has managed to get both his arms back between Austerlich's legs - danger averted.

Austerlich throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Teigen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Austerlich swivels and escapes.
Teigen throws a looping overhand right but Austerlich ducks down to avoid it.

Teigen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Austerlich is letting Teigen control him for a moment.
Austerlich manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Austerlich wants to stand up but Teigen has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Teigen can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Teigen is working to get back to half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Austerlich wants to stand but Teigen is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eirik Teigen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Teigen moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Austerlich gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Teigen makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Teigen gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Austerlich drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Teigen is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Austerlich's shoulder. That is not cool.

Austerlich is desperately trying to improve his position but Teigen has a good base and remains in mount.

Austerlich wants to hold on but Teigen pushes him away.

Teigen is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Austerlich has managed to escape the submission attempt.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Austerlich turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Teigen off and cradles Austerlich's limp body as Teigen celebrates with his corner.
