Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Scott Tenorman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karlmann Friedhelm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Scott Tenorman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Karlmann Friedhelm!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Friedhelm looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tenorman is fending him off so far but Friedhelm persists. Nope, Tenorman circles away and we're back to standing.
Tenorman misses with a looping left.
Friedhelm tries to clinch but Tenorman is having none of it.

Friedhelm closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Friedhelm lands in his opponent's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Friedhelm accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tenorman is on top in guard.
Tenorman throws a big right hand that misses.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tenorman postures up in Friedhelm's guard and throws a big left but Friedhelm blocks it.
Tenorman works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Friedhelm has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Tenorman is trying to control. Friedhelm wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Friedhelm wants to get back to full guard.
Friedhelm is trying to maintain the position but Tenorman is very close to passing his half guard.
Tenorman is pressing down on Friedhelm's thigh, looking to free his foot. Friedhelm is holding on for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Friedhelm throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Friedhelm gets full guard.

Friedhelm looking for subs off his back but Tenorman has passed one foot through into half guard.
Tenorman prevents Friedhelm from improving his position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Friedhelm gets full guard.
Friedhelm trying to keep a closed guard but Tenorman is proving a slippery customer.
Tenorman trying to control but Friedhelm is working from the bottom.

Tenorman avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Friedhelm has his foot on Tenorman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tenorman works his way back into a safe position though.
Tenorman will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Friedhelm looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tenorman is one step ahead there.
Friedhelm has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Tenorman is pushing down on Friedhelm's leg trying to pass to half guard. Friedhelm is fighting to maintain full guard but Tenorman has managed to sneak the leg through.
It looks like Tenorman is going to stand back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Friedhelm is trying to maintain the position but Tenorman is very close to passing his half guard.

Tenorman is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Friedhelm has an active guard here but Tenorman has managed to pass into half guard.
Friedhelm is trying to control but Tenorman passes into side control!

A close round but Karlmann Friedhelm will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Friedhelm shoots in for a takedown but Tenorman shows good takedown defense.
Friedhelm shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tenorman as he avoids it easily.
Tenorman slaps away a takedown attempt from Friedhelm, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Scott Tenorman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karlmann Friedhelm.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Tenorman goes for a takedown in the clinch but Friedhelm prevents it.
Tenorman is trying to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tenorman drops down looking for an ankle pick but Friedhelm pulls his leg out and moves away.
Friedhelm thuds a left hand into Tenorman's body.
Friedhelm fails with a takedown attempt.

Nice uppercut lands for Tenorman. That snapped Friedhelm's head back.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Friedhelm.
Tenorman is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Friedhelm's jab looks to have found its range, popping Tenorman under the eye.

Friedhelm decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Friedhelm wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tenorman keeps working.

Friedhelm wants to work for an arm triangle but Tenorman is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Friedhelm wants to pass to mount but Tenorman is defending the position.

Tenorman is refusing to be controlled, as Friedhelm sits in half guard.
Tenorman tries to get to full guard but Friedhelm has control of the leg.
Friedhelm keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Tenorman is defending against the submission attempts here by Friedhelm.
Friedhelm wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tenorman keeps working.

Tenorman is pressing down on Friedhelm's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Friedhelm not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Friedhelm trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Friedhelm throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tenorman works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Tenorman is adopting a defensive guard.
Tenorman keeping moving, preventing Friedhelm from controlling successfully.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Friedhelm dives in and grabs Tenorman's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tenorman pushes down on Friedhelm's head and hops out.
Friedhelm misses with a wild combination.
Friedhelm tries to clinch up
and Tenorman counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Friedhelm thinking.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Karlmann Friedhelm showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Tenorman ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Friedhelm misses with a takedown attempt

and Tenorman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Friedhelm won't be happy with that.
Friedhelm can't do much from the bottom here.
Friedhelm is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Tenorman is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Friedhelm will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Friedhelm wants to control but Tenorman postures up.

Tenorman swings around for an armbar but Friedhelm sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Tenorman's guard.
Tenorman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Friedhelm is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Tenorman is in trouble now - Friedhelm has advanced to mount!

Friedhelm wants to finish this one by submission but Tenorman is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Friedhelm.

Friedhelm goes for an armbar but Tenorman turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Tenorman.
Scott Tenorman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Friedhelm looking for a guillotine here but Tenorman defends easily.
Friedhelm takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Friedhelm controlling the position.
Friedhelm is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Friedhelm passes to full mount!

Friedhelm jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Tenorman is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Tenorman and Friedhelm has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Friedhelm thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Tenorman stops Friedhelm from passing to mount.
Karlmann Friedhelm is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Friedhelm looking to control but instead Tenorman has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Scott Tenorman.
Well Friedhelm has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
