The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Azevedo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Judo.

Judo shoots for a double leg takedown but Azevedo sprawls well. He's pushed Judo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hanzo Judo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This has been an exciting period of action!
The fighters circling - Judo throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Azevedo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Judo's guard.
Judo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Judo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Azevedo to score with a decent uppercut.

Jeez, Hanzo Judo's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
