The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rex Jr throws out a loose jab but Chippy uses good head movement to avoid it.
A big left from Rex Jr misses.
Chippy shoots in looking for a takedown. Rex Jr tries to sprawl out of it but Chippy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rex Jr manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Chippy changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rex Jr looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Chippy is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Rex Jr is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rex Jr can't do much from the bottom here.

Chippy is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Rex Jr to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Rex Jr shrugs it off.
