PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tommi Neponen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and rolf rolfson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, rolf rolfson!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neponen misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
rolfson blocks a head kick by Neponen.
Neponen tries to clinch there but rolfson circles away.
rolfson moves to clinch but Neponen breaks away

and Neponen counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for rolfson!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Neponen is working for a guillotine from mount but rolfson frees his head quite easily.
rolfson tries to lock up and control but Neponen gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Neponen goes for an armbar but he's not got it… rolfson turns into him and now he's in Neponen's guard.
rolfson wants to control from the top but Neponen keeps moving.
rolfson wants to get up but he can't break Neponen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

rolfson advances position into side control!

rolfson is working to tighten is grip on Neponen's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Neponen has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but rolfson is really squeezing tight and eventually Neponen passes out! rolfson breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
