PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hiroyuki Hanzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pikku Hiawatha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hiawatha is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Gael. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Wagner Zegers and Aafke Stam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hanzo throws a head kick that misses.
An inside leg kick from Hanzo misses.

Hanzo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hanzo preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Hiawatha looking to sit in guard and control but Hanzo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Hanzo tries to stand but Hiawatha is controlling from the bottom.

Hiawatha isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hanzo stacks Hiawatha on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hanzo!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Hiawatha working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hanzo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hanzo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hanzo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Hiawatha escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hanzo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hiawatha has his foot on Hanzo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hanzo works his way back into a safe position though.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hiawatha is on top in guard.
Hiawatha won't allow Hanzo to get back to his feet.

Hiawatha connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Hanzo momentarily.
Hanzo tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Hiawatha manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
