The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overeem scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Patrone is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Patrone misses with a jab, cross combination.
Patrone shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Overeem as he jumps to the side.
Overeem tests Patrone's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Overeem connects with a good right hand that stumbles Patrone. Patrone circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Patrone pulls out of a head kick attempt.

A jab from Overeem finds it's way through Patrone's defenses.

It looks like Cash Patrone has been cut.
Patrone takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Overeem comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

and Overeem counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Patrone! He's just covering up as Overeem starts to tee off till referee steps in and stops the fight!
