Melkonyan comes into the arena with 25/17 blaring out of the sound system. Eduard Melkonyan could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Hemangio Blastoma's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blastoma wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Blastoma throws a head kick that misses.

Melkonyan shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Blastoma napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Blastoma is trying to improve his position.
Blastoma can't do much from the bottom here.

Melkonyan is trying to get an arm triangle but Blastoma is defending well.
Blastoma should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Melkonyan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Blastoma can do anything to dispel that myth.
Melkonyan postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Melkonyan decides to stand up, so the ref orders Blastoma to his feet.
Blastoma does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Melkonyan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Blastoma as he avoids it easily.
Blastoma is looking to land body kicks.
Hemangio Blastoma seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Blastoma gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Melkonyan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Melkonyan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Melkonyan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Melkonyan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Melkonyan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Blastoma is proving hard to escape from.
Blastoma looks gassed!

Blastoma really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Melkonyan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Melkonyan slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Melkonyan is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Blastoma looks calm but he's in trouble here. Melkonyan gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Blastoma is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Melkonyan lets go of the hold and Blastoma can pop his arm back in it's socket.
