Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alan Landry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Landry ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Marshall moves away.
Marshall scores with a head kick.
Marshall tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Marshall moves away from the strike by Landry.
No joy there for Landry, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Marshall shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Marshall was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Marshall cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Landry is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Poor strikes thrown by Marshall there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Marshall looking to ground and pound but Landry is blocking nicely.
Landry takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Marshall misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Marshall has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Landry's face.
Marshall breaks from Landry's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Marshall lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Landry hang on?
Marshall wants to control the action but instead Landry gets a body lock and reverses into Marshall's guard! Nice work!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Marshall is trying to keep Landry in close.
Landry would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Landry wants to control from the top but Marshall keeps moving.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Marshall looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Landry pushes Marshall off and scrambles back to his feet.
Landry misses with an uppercut. Marshall saw that one coming.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Marshall tries to score a power double leg takedown but Landry sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Marshall somewhat.
Marshall tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Landry swivels and escapes.
Marshall connects with a high kick.
Landry ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Marshall moves away.
Landry lands a really nice looking cross but Marshall seems unphased.
Landry will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Marshall shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Landry as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Patrick Marshall. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Landry throws a series of punches but Marshall avoids them all with ease.
Landry fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Marshall keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Landry just misses with a punch to the body.
Nice sprawl there from Landry as Marshall shoots in.

Marshall uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Landry.

Landry gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Marshall to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Marshall throws a strike but Landry rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Landry slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Landry's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Landry not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Landry stands and steps away. Marshall gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sloppy strikes from Landry. Those never looked like landing.
Landry throws a lazy right hand but Marshall sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Marshall ducks under a wild hook from Landry.
Landry swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
The fighters circling - Landry throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Landry's corner calls for a 1-2. Landry obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Nice defenses there by Marshall.
Marshall fails with the takedown.
Landry throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Landry throws a jab when Marshall was well out of range.
Landry misses with a few strikes there.

Landry wants to stand up but Marshall is controlling him.

Landry has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Marshall off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Marshall closes the distance and clinches.

Marshall turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Marshall manages to end up in side control.
Marshall working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
The ground and pound from Marshall seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Marshall throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Landry works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Marshall is working an open guard so Landry takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Landry lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Landry displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Marshall.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Landry throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Marshall sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Alan Landry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Landry throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Marshall takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Landry lands a jab to the nose.
Landry throws a shot from downtown. Marshall moves away and avoids it.
Marshall feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Landry's calf.

Marshall closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Landry did well to prevent Marshall getting side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alan Landry showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Landry throws a looping overhand right but Marshall ducks down to avoid it.
Landry swings for the body but Marshall moves out of range.

Landry ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Marshall moves away.
Marshall avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Marshall closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Landry to the mat! Landry manages to get full guard.

Landry has his feet on Marshall's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Landry lands with an overhand left.
Marshall throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Landry's waist but Landry gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Marshall off to one side.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Landry loads up on a big right hand but Marshall slips the punch.

Marshall looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Landry fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Marshall manages to avoid it.
The fighters circle momentarily. Landry darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Landry ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Landry throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Landry feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Marshalls jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
The fighters circling - Landry throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Landry throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A punch combination from Landry misses.

Marshall has closed the distance and engaged Landry in a clinch.
Marshall has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Landry avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Patrick Marshall. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Landry manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Marshall trying to control the position from guard on top but Landry is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Landry is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Marshall is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Landry pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Landry gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Marshall.
Landry is trying to break the clinch but Marshall has him pressed against the cage.

Landry ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Landry no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Marshall throws a strike but Landry rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Marshall is working an open guard so Landry takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Landry stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Landry wants it to stay on the feet.
Landry throws a body punch but Marshall moves out of range.
Landry steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Marshall. That one must have hurt.

Marshall shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Landry manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Landry pushes Marshall off and gets back to his feet.

Landry is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Marshall laying and praying for a moment but Landry takes advantage and regains half guard.
Marshall slips a nice elbow through Landry's hands, connecting with Landry's forehead.

Alan Landry comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Landry has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
