PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chuey Chuleta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fast Punch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chuleta comes into the arena with CHINGO BLING - PUT MY SWAG ON REMIX blaring out of the sound system. Punch is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Prodigy - Hot Ride . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chuey Chuleta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fast Punch!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chuleta tries to clinch but Punch is having none of it.
Punch avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Punch swats away the attempt to clinch by Chuleta.
Chuleta misses with a takedown attempt - Punch sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A big right from Punch misses.
Punch throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Chuleta sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Punch uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Chuleta.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Chuleta has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Punch is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Chuleta postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Punch is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Chuleta, into his guard.

Well, if Punch is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Punch throws out a loose jab but Chuleta uses good head movement to avoid it.
Punch will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

It looks like Chuey Chuleta has been cut.
Chuleta keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Punch.

Chuleta clinches up with Punch and pushes him back against the cage.
Chuleta misses with a short punch on the inside.
Chuleta tries for a takedown but Punch manages to get underhooks.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Chuleta manages to control the position for a moment.
Punch thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

Punch throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Fast Punch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Punch changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Chuleta tries to avoid it but Punch manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Chuleta to the ground. Chuleta escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Punch ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Punch lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Chuleta circles away quickly and effectively.

Chuleta drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Punch gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Chuey Chuleta has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Punch throws a good cross that connects.

Chuleta fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Punch on the side of the head.
Chuleta shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Punch counters with a nice body shot.

Chuleta has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Punch avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Chuleta is trying to trip Punch. He has hold of a leg but Punch is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Chuleta persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Punch manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Chuleta manages to get himself to full guard.

Let's hope that Punch has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Fast Punch is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Punch tries to bum rush Chuleta with a series of wild strikes but Chuleta uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Chuleta takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Punch closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Chuleta quickly recovers to half guard.

Fast Punch comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Punch winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
