The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

jandel drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

jandel wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Laskutkov, who protects the arm well.
Laskutkov is trying to control jandel's posture but jandel avoids it.

jandel is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Laskutkov knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

jandel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Laskutkov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Laskutkov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because jandel is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

jandel jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Laskutkov is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Laskutkov and jandel has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
